Are Bananas Good For Health?

Bananas. There are many types of bananas. Cavendish. Latundan. Manzano. All of them have different sizes, lengths, and taste. We have all heard that bananas are good for the body as they contain this and that nutrients. However, some say bananas are not good especially for weight loss as they are full of calories and must be consumed in moderation. I would like to share my take on this. Banana 01

I have been eating bananas almost everyday since 2008. 3 to 6 bananas a day. They are sweet but they are naturally sweet, and do not contain artificial sugars. They provide almost instant energy because of this. And my body is still slim, and on the thin side. So we can rule out that bananas can cause weight gain.

But do they help weight loss instead? This I have no idea because I have seen fat people eating bananas and they remain fat. Weight loss and fat loss depend on many other factors instead of just a type of food that you have or have not eaten. It is a combination of different knowledge on dieting and whether you are able to maintain a certain amount of discipline to go through with the protocols. It is not as magical as slimming down or removing a health problem instantly after you start consuming bananas everyday. Banana 02

That said, bananas are still wonderful fruits that you can eat a bunch of without any harm to the body. They are rich in potassium, fiber, vitamin B6, and antioxidants, promoting heart health, digestion, and energy. They will NOT cause blood sugar to spike and will NOT cause gas or bloating, contrary to what is being parroted on mainstream sites. So bananas are good except if you become a fruitarian and eat bananas only. That way, your body will lack nutrients and calories from other sources of food such as grains, vegetables, or even meat. Therefore, bananas should definitely be eaten in moderation. You can eat lots of them but don't go to the extreme eating more than 10 a day!
